"Are GoodBelly Pomegranate Blackberry Probiotics the Tasty Key to a Happy Gut?"

GoodBelly Probiotics
GoodBelly Probiotics

Probiotics are live bacteria that have beneficial effects on your body.  These bacteria, also known as microflora, can be found in your gut.  They play a role in keeping your intestines and colon moving smoothly.  Poor diet, stress, antibiotics and other factors can lead to an imbalance in your microflora.  Imbalances can cause things like cramping, constipation, diarrhea, bloating and more.  One of the easiest ways to fix an imbalance in your gut bacteria is to add them back through foods.

GoodBelly has created a line of liquid probiotics.  Each serving contains 20 billion probiotics.  While that might sound like a lot, it is estimated that the gut alone contains between 30 and 400 trillion of these bacteria.  That’s a lot of bacteria to keep happy.  The specific strain, or type of bacteria, used in GoodBelly is Lactobacillus Plantarium 299V.  These bacteria can help protect your body from disease causing bacteria.  They can also promote a healthy immune system, play a role in cancer prevention, help reduce inflammation in the gut lining, help prevent gut-related side effects from antibiotics, help improve irritable bowel syndrome symptoms and much more.

The 32-ounce GoodBelly Pomegranate Blackberry flavor was selected for this article.  The ingredients include: Filtered Water, Organic Pear Juice from Concentrate, Organic Pomegranate Juice from Concentrate, Organic Evaporated Cane Sugar, 2% or less Organic Oat Flour, Organic Blackberry Juice from Concentrate, Natural Flavors, Organic Carrot Juice for color, Citric Acid, Organic Barley Malt, Lactobacillus Plantarium 299V.

GoodBelly Pomegranate Blackberry DOES contain gluten from organic oat flour and barley malt.

What does it taste like?

The drink itself is thin like water or lemonade.  Out of the pear, pomegranate and blackberry juices, the blackberry is the slightly dominant flavor with secondary notes of pomegranate making an appearance.  Overall, the flavor can be described as a pleasant “berry” flavor.  The pear adds some sweetness and disappears in the background.  The additional sweetness from the evaporated cane sugar removes any bitterness and add notable sweetness to the flavor.  The level of sweetness is above what would be found naturally in the fruit.  Comparing sweet and unsweet drinks, I would place this one in the middle range of sweetness.

Whether you’re working on healing your gut, kicking up your immune system or taking preventative measures, GoodBelly is worth checking out.  The high dose of probiotics gives your gut a great boost.  Plus, the flavor options and level of sweetness will please a wide range of taste buds.

On a final note, GoodBelly offers a 12-day gut reset challenge. The challenge is 8 ounces per day for 12 days.  There is a coupon available for this challenge at Goodbelly.com/12-day-reboot.
